The Contoocook Carry is taking a rest this year.
Join us in 2012 for the next race!
The 9th
Annual
Contoocook Carry
Sponsored by the Town of Hopkinton |
Triathlon–
Individual & Team
Athletes, Families,
Teens, Kids and Differently Abled.
Any Age or Walk of Life.
The Contoocook
Carry Triathlon was first held in 2002 to help build the town’s Spirit
Skateboard Park.
This year, our
mission is to give 100% of all proceeds directly to Fuel
Assistance (through Human
Services)
to those who might need a little extra help this coming
winter.
Our spirit
has always come from outstanding athletes, families, teens trying to out do their parents or
each other, and other adventurous people, just testing their mettle. This event happens
each year only because of the amazing volunteers from our town: The Rotary Club, our
Policemen, our Volunteer Rescue Team, the Interact Club, the Girl
Scouts, The Lions Club, our churches, and many individual volunteers.

The “Carry” begins
from Hopkinton High School with a 2 mile run to the bank of the
Contoocook River and a beautiful
view of Putney Hill. After putting your boat in the water, you’ll
paddle about a 1 ½ miles to the
portage, just above the dam and
bridge in the Village of Contoocook. You and your boat
will portage (you carry, it rides) about 200 yards to return to the
river. At the end of the
paddle, you can begin the 14 mile bike through the lightly rolling
country back to high School. For more, read the
article on our
Bow Times
page!
Join us for the fun,

assistance through the
